Missing in Action

This week we have been missing in action, from my MOMs group, to OT/PT, to just getting out of the house. We are still locked up inside because our little ones are still sick.
I think the hardest part of them being sick is that they do not act sick overall. Why is that hard? Well, they play really hard when they are awake, so you want to treat them like they are well, but they just do not feel well enough to work on any certain skills for very long with them feeling so poorly. The only noticeable difference is that they are only able to stay awake a few hours before they are really to fall over with being so tired. Oh yah.... and the gross, faucet noses, sneezing which causes a snot volcano to erupt from their nose, runny noses.

Many people see their pictures and think they look so big, but when they see them in real life they are surprised by how tiny they really are.

Veronika, who will be 19 months old in a few days, is 28 inches long and weighs 20lbs, 10oz.
If you are looking at a typically developing child growth chart she falls:
Length = below percentile 5
Weight = below percentile 5
If you go according to the Down syndrome growth chart she falls:
Length = around percentile 10
Weight = just above percentile 50

 Gavyn who will be 17 months old in a few days, is 30 inches long and 19lbs 10oz.
Length = below percentile 5
Weight = below percentile 5
If you go according to the Down syndrome growth chart he falls:
Lenght =  just above percentile 55
Weight = just below percentile 50

When our daughter, who is now grown and married, flew out to visit her youngest siblings, she was surprised by how tiny they were. She was so worried she would miss them being little. Much to her surprise, the photos of them, only made them look big. She spent most of her time here trying to take pictures that would show how small they are, but even she had trouble doing that.
Either way, they are so stinking cute and so sweet you can't help falling head over heels in love with them.
